With its many temples, Uttarakhand—also referred to as Devbhoomi or the Land of Gods—welcomes pilgrims throughout the year. The Char Dham Yatra is one of the most well-known of the many holy sites and circuits that devotees travel to in Uttarakhand. Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath are four sacred locations tucked away high in the Himalayas that are visited throughout this pilgrimage, or yatra. ‘Char’ signifies four in Hindi, whereas ‘dham’ denotes places of worship.
The high-altitude shrines are closed for about half the year; they open in April or May during the summer and close in October or November when winter arrives. The Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter is thought to be best completed in a clockwise manner. As a result, the pilgrimage begins in Yamunotri, continues to Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The trip can be finished by air (helicopter services are available) or by road. A Do Dham Yatra, or pilgrimage, to the shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath is even undertaken by some devotees.
Goddess Yamuna is worshipped at the Yamunotri temple, which is located in the Uttarkashi district in a small canyon near the Yamuna River’s source. The Yamuna is the second-most sacred river in India after the Ganga. Gangotri, which honors the Goddess Ganga, the most revered of all Indian rivers, is also located in the Uttarkashi district. Lord Shiva’s shrine, Kedarnath, is situated in the Rudraprayag district. Lord Vishnu is worshipped in Badrinath, which is also the location of the revered Badrinarayan Temple. The Char Dham Yatra fulfils the soul and is both divine and difficult!
A fixed departure Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter 2025 is available with the Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter package. All four of the primary Chota 4 Dham sites—Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath—can be visited in 6 nights and 7 days with an air tour. Additionally, it offers the chance to have a darshan from above of Panchprayag, Tungnath, and the breathtaking Himalayan mountain valley.

May and June are the best months to go by flight to Char Dham. The Garhwal region experiences beautiful, bright weather over these two summer months. Because of the bright days, the temperature climbs to 20°C, which creates a fresh and happy atmosphere. In addition, there is reduced likelihood of rain throughout the summer, which helps to make the weather perfect for tourists.
In addition to the summer months, you can schedule your flight in October and November. Since there is very little rainfall during these autumn months, the weather is often clear from a tourism standpoint.
