Day 1: Go to 7,650 meters in Lohajung.
Arrive in Lohajung by 3 p.m. The road that leads to Lohajung passes through the breathtaking Kumaon region and is quite lovely and gorgeous. We also travel through Kausani and Almora along the route. At 2300 m a.s.l., Lohajung is considered as a small mountain pass that connects the Wan and Gwaldam sides of the mountain. Stay overnight in guest house.
Day 2: Trek distance: 6 km; Lohajung to Bekaltal (9900 feet)
We follow the man-made stone trail after breakfast. Amazing views of Nandaghunti Peak and route. Bekaltal is a stunning lake that is usually frozen in January and February. The lake is bordered by oak trees, and there is a lovely area to camp.
Day 3: Trek 5 km from Bekaltal to Brahmatal (10,600 feet)
We leave early for Brahmatal (3400M); this is the mythical meditation place of Lord Brahma. The Monal, state bird of Uttarakhand is said to be here. Trishul, Bithartoli and Nandaghunti are some of the peaks we might see. As we reach there, we will find a camp location nearer to the lake and spend the evening stargazing.
Day 4: Travel 13 kilometers from Brahmatal to Brahmatal Top (12,650 feet) and back.
We shall begin our walk to Brahmatal Top today. You can only bring a daypack; your backpack must stay in the camps. At 3846 meters is Brahmatal Top. Look out for the stunning views of Himalayan range to your right. Mt. Trishul and Nandaghunti are two of the most notable peaks; they appear so close together that it feels like you are viewing them on a movie screen. Go back to the camp.
Day 5: 11 kilometers from Brahmatal to Lohajung
We are taking our fantastic return journey today. We shall remember the high mountains and snow trails that we came across and retrace our steps along the very same path back to Lohajung. Arrive Lohajung by afternoon and take a guest house there.
Day 6: Leave the Lohajung area
Farewell to your newfound companions and the group that holds a wealth of memories from back home.
