Day 01: Arrive Dehradun – Drive to Uttarkashi
In the morning, drive to Uttarkashi after meeting our representative at the Dehradun Railway Station. Register at the resort as soon as you arrive.
Day 2: Uttarkashi – Sangamchatti – Bhewra
We have to head off immediately after breakfast today because we have a 40-minute trip to Sangamchatti. Once we descend to this point, our walk begins at the first campground of Bhewra, which is a lonely area close to a stunning waterfall. Reaching the campsite will take approximately 4–5 hours of trekking through the jungle.
Day 3: Bhewra – Dodital
After breakfast the following day, we proceed to Dodital, our next camping location. The journey begins in Bewra and gradually climbs height as it goes through a stunning valley on this day. This walk ends at Majhi, where you may have lunch and see some lovely little shepherds’ homes. The next day, we’ll visit Dwara Top, from where you’ll also have an amazing view. We’ll resume our journey later on to Dodital, which is our ultimate target. You will arrive to one of the most stunning Himalayan lakes, encircled by a stunning forest blanketed in snow, after four to five hours of hiking. You may enjoy the bonfire close to your campers, stroll about, see the temple, and freshen yourself. Remember to look for the trout in the lake as well.
Day 4: Dodital – Dwara Top –Dodital
We set out on our 5 kilometer hike to Dwara Top this morning, which should take us two to three hours, depending on the quality of the snow. From there, we reach a meadow at an elevation of 4150 meters, from where we get the breathtaking view of the Himalayas. Every direction will hold its beauty as the captivating vista from Dwara Top makes it. We return to Dodital campground after lunch and the scenery. We’ll spend the rest of the day by the lake and, if we’re lucky, stargaze at night.
Day 5: Dodital – Sangamchatti – Uttarkashi
The final day of the journey will commence early since we’ll be returning straight to Sangamchatti. It is not going to take much time and the track is simple enough, we ret-route to Uttarkashi to the main road.
Day 06: Uttarkashi – Dehradun
After breakfast, check out from the resort and proceed to Dehradun railway station for your onward journey.
The closest airport to Uttarkashi headquarters is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which is located roughly 200 miles away. There are bus and taxi connections from the Dehradun airport to the Uttarkashi headquarters.
There are train stations in Haridwar, Dehradun, and Rishikesh. Dehradun and Rishikesh are the closest railheads from Uttarkashi, approximately 200 kilometers away. It is possible to go to Uttarkashi from Rishikesh/Dehradun by bus or taxi.
Regular state transport buses run between Uttarkashi and Dehradun/Rishikesh. Between Uttarkashi and Dehradun (200 km) and Haridwar (250 km), there are buses operated by Local Transport Union and State Transport, respectively. Gangotri is about 100 miles from the headquarters of Uttarkashi. Dodital is a 24-kilometer walk from Uttarakashi, 19 kilometers away.
